Gamma Tau Alumni are very busy! The chapter has 4 separate boards with distinct function:
The OX Building Corporation
OX Building Corporation is the legally incorporated 501(c)(7) not-for-profit corporation managed by an elected board of Theta Chi volunteers with the sole purpose of overseeing and managing the chapter’s housing facility.
The Theta Chi at Drake University Helping Hand Foundation
It is the mission of Theta Chi at Drake University Helping Hand Foundation to promote education, academic achievement, leadership skills, good moral character, and encourage philanthropic and community service, primarily of members of Gamma Tau Chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity, by providing scholarships to such members, and grants to the Chapter housing corporation to assist in providing necessary facilities for such purposes.
Theta Chi Fraternity at Drake University Helping Hand Foundation is the 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that provides scholarships and supports the educational efforts of the undergraduate chapter.
The Capital Campaign Board
The Capital Campaign Board is an ad hoc board charged with fundraising for the new Chapter House and the Annual Fund. With the generous support of our alumni, our daughters, our parents, and our many friends, the new fraternity house will be built and ready for occupancy in time for the 2015-2016 school year.
The Chapter Advisory Board
It has been proven over and over again that a successful chapter has a proactive chapter adviser and Chapter Advisory Board. The Adviser is a teacher, a friend and a role model with a thorough understanding of the ideals and practices of Theta Chi. While a chapter’s membership turns over every 3-4 years, the chapter adviser provides longer term consistency for the group. The chapter adviser’s sole purpose is the success of the undergraduate chapter.
