If your student joins a chapter, he or she will be part of a 900+ self-governing community which provides opportunities for both personal and professional development and strives for academic excellence. (The all-greek GPA is consistanty higher than the all-university GPA!) Is your student looking for leadershipopportunities? We have over 150 in the sorority/fraternity alone. The opportunities available through Greek membership will lead your student to a bright and successful future.

The undergraduate members at Drake pride themselves on the individual personality and positive traditions of each fraternity and sorority on campus. Our community offers a rich and rewarding experience for its members. In addition, fraternities and sororities have contributed substantially to campus life, local community service, and the educational mission of the University.

The Panhellenic and Intrafraternity Councils are comprised of members from each sorority or fraternity, and they are both resources and governing bodies for the Greek living units. Insights into policies can be found in the Standards and Rubrics used by the Greek houses:

“For many of Drake’s graduates who assume leadership roles in their careers and communities, an important part of their preparation began through committee and officer positions in their sorority or fraternity chapters.”

-David Maxwell, President Emeritus, Drake University
