“My years at Theta Chi were a time for growth. They helped me learn to live on my own, to be accountable for my own responsibilities, and to learn how to deal with other personalities. Of course I fell very short of all of these experiences, but I’m still learning from my experiences at Drake University and Theta Chi.”
Kevin took his time in college and made those experiences and lessons a part of who he would become after graduation. His degree in business administration with concentrations in management and marketing led to a 21-year career in the title insurance industry and his own company, Lee County Title.
A position as house manager has grown into involvement in Theta Chi as an alumnus. Kevin now serves as chief operating officer for the Theta Chi Building Corporation and as the alcohol awareness officer.
Speaking to the younger generation of Gamma Tau members, Kevin shares, “I know it’s difficult to try and stay involved in the Fraternity with starting your career and possibly a family. Take a year or two off and concentrate on your priorities, but always remember what the Fraternity has done for you and try your best to give back. There are many young men that could learn from your experience. Take ownership of your Fraternity and continue to make it something you are proud of.”
Kevin lives in Rockford, Illinois, with his wife, Lisa. They have two children, Ken, a junior at Carthage College, and Lindsay, a senior in high school. Kevin enjoys spending time outdoors with his family and can be found with the family’s dog, hiking or working in the yard. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
