Academic Adviser

Professor Tom Swartwood Drake University

This semester, the chapter has integrated our new member program to include regular meetings with our academic adviser, Professor Tom Swartwood. He is the director of the Entrepreneurship Program, and the meetings provide a clear vision on education and advice from a faculty mentor. Professor Swartwood has been a valuable resource this year.

Professor Swartwood was the president of his fraternity while attending Dartmouth College. He understands our fraternity system and is able to help members stay on track, both in and out of the classroom.

Philanthropy

Theta Chi Polar Plunge

For the third year in a row, the chapter organized a Polar Plunge. We had multiple events throughout the week where other fraternities and sororities participated to earn the most points for their chapter. All money raised was donated to the Special Olympics of Iowa.

We participated in each sorority’s philanthropy competitions and are happy to announce that we took first place in the following sorority events:

  • Kappa Alpha Theta
  • Delta Gamma
  • Kappa Kappa Gamma
  • Pi Kappa Alpha

Our total wins in the past 2 years – 6 first place finishes.
